Revels Turf and Tractor Celebrating 50 Years in 2011

Revels Turf and Tractor will be celebrating 50 years in business during 2011. The first of several events to be held during the year begin with a dinner and program on Thursday, January 6th, at Bentwinds Country Club in Fuquay-Varina. Approximately 155 current and past employees, Revels family members, customers and industry friends gathered to enjoy great food and fellowship while honoring 50 years of serving the agriculture, landscape and golf industries in the Carolinas and Virginia. “This was an opportunity to fellowship with family, employees and industry friends by recalling the history and highlights of 50 years in business, how it all occurred and how much the Revels family has been blessed with great employees, customers and suppliers during this period,” stated Revels Turf and Tractor President Turner Revels. Turner’s father Charles Revels begin the business in 1961 and was President until Turner took over the position in 1994. Revels added, “We were extremely pleased with the community and industry professionals that were willing to come and spend an evening with the Revels Turf and Tractor family to honor this special occasion. Guest speakers included Fuquay-Varina mayor John Byrne, Dan McGinn, past Marketing Manager for John Deere Consumer and Commercial Products, Jeff Gredvig, Director of Brand License for John Deere Co., Tim Kregger, Executive director of the Carolinas Golf Course Superintendent Association, Gregg Breningmeyer, World Wide Manager of John Deere Golf and Don Parker, CFO of SAS and Chairman of the Board for Revels Turf and Tractor.” During the program past owner and 47 year employee of Revels Tractor Co. W.A. “Billy” Hipp was recognized for his outstanding service to the company, employees and especially the customers as he filled the position of Service Manager for most of his 47 years with the company. Billy began his retirement on January 1, 2011. “It was an honor hosting this event with family and friends who recognized the impact Revels Tractor Co. had on our lives during the past 50 years and the blessing we have all received working in the industries we have served and with the people we have been associated with over the years,” concluded Revels.
